The Shakin’ N’ Bakin’ Pilates Workout…Not Your Ordinary Exercise Class

The Shakin’ N’ Bakin’ Pilates Workout…Not Your Ordinary Exercise Class is a 60-minute precision, Pilates-based workout that has you working hard (shakin’) and sweating (bakin’).  A combination of isometrics, Pilates (mat and standing), Pilates ring or fitness circle are utilized to give you the best results in the shortest amount of time.  Your body reduces in size, reduces bulk. We work on stretching, balance. Yet we focus on the specific muscle we are trying to strengthen.

No squatting or lunging ever in my Pilates class. We want you to reduce your butt and thighs, not build them. The women who I work with do enough of that (simultaneous hip and knee flexion) in everyday life and their butts and thighs are already big. They want to trim down.  You want to trim down. You feel great after the class, not worn out and can’t move. I use techniques like PB2Navel to help you use and work your abs as they were intended. There is no such thing as upper and lower abs.  Just abs (the ‘six pack’, from your ribs to your pelvis), the tranverse layer underneath (your natural girdle) and the obliques on your sides. You'll learn what moves work them fully and best.

This class is intended for all levels of strength and coordination.  Technique and quality is paramount and impressive; sloppiness and quantity is not and is possibly injury waiting to happen.  Come observe if you’d like. We welcome you.
What to wear:

  • Comfortable clothes
  • Sneakers or easy on and off rubber sole shoes

What to bring:

  • A mat
  • A Pilates ring or fitness circle 14-15” /some available, first come; first serve 
  • A smile and a positive, ‘I’ll try it’ attitude. Rings are not mandatory for class participation; but they are highly recommended.

Class locations, times, and fees:
Their are no Shakin' N' Bakin' Pilates classes scheduled for the summer.
